Billie Holiday   - "Strange Fruit" one of the first anti rascist songs ever - 
(was released  in 1939).

"Strange Fruit" began as a poem written by Abel Meeropol, a Jewish high-school teacher from the Bronx, about the lynching of two black men.

Holiday was recording for Columbia in the late 1930s when she was introduced to "Strange Fruit", a song based on a poem
